While all eyes are on next-gen and the photorealism of its upcoming games, a few titles are sneaking in that instead opt for creative art direction and style in the midst of the upcoming new console generation, one of those being the beautiful-looking Contrast from Compulsion Games.

Inspired by the vaudevillian era of the 1920s, Contrast shows off its mechanics of light and shadow in a recently-released batch of concept art from the upcoming game, created by concept artist Whitney Clayton. In showing some of the characters and locales you can expect to see when the game releases in November, the concept art is both breathtakingly-handsome and shows that Contrast looks like it will be no mere illusion.

Contrast releases on PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 15th, 2013.
