Retro gaming behemoth SEGA is well known for the flashy, fast-paced, and colorful games it released during the 1980s and early 1990s. Iconic characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog have become household names while frantic titles such as Space Harrier and Altered Beast hold a special place in the hearts of old school gamers. One title that somewhat breaks the mold though is arcade classic Out Run; a racer that's currently seeing a resurgence thanks to SEGA Ages.

Like other SEGA racers, Out Run is a swift romp that has the player taking heavy turns and avoiding collisions at breakneck speeds. However, the thing that separates this game from most of its genre is the laid back atmosphere it effortlessly emits throughout.

SEGA Ages Out Run puts the player in the driver's seat of a flashy sports car as they take off across sun-drenched beaches, open roads, and dusty deserts in a race agaisnt the clock. While catching the wind their hair through the '80s convertible, players can also enjoy the game's now legendary musical compositions including Passing Breeze and Splash Wave.

SEGA Ages Out Run is available now on Nintendo Switch for $7.99. You can take a look at the 1986 classic via the launch trailer below.
