For this not in the know, this week marked the celebration not only of one land-based rodent thanks to Groundhog Day, but also the celebration of "Hedgehog Day," and gaming in particular has one famous hedgehog that SEGA celebrated in a bizarre (but also hilarious and adorable) fashion.

In celebration of Hedgehog Day, the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel released a new video celebrating everyone's favorite sassy blue critter, Sonic the Hedgehog, with a short (but hilarious) video of an actual hedgehog attempting to run through Green Hill Zone.

Obviously, as you might expect, it doesn't really go all that well. But yeah: sometimes, you just gotta go fast.

Along with the Hedgehog Day celebrations, 2016 also happens to mark the 25th Anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog since his debut on the SEGA Genesis in 1991, so hopefully we'll be able to see more celebrations in tow for the Blue Blur - in the meantime, you can check out the Hedgehog Day video below:
