While there is no SEGA miniaturized console booked for release this holiday season, there is still lots of 16-bit fun on its way as SEGA Genesis Classics makes its way to Nintendo Switch.

Originally announced back in September, this collection compiles more than 50 of the iconic SEGA machine's greatest hits. Among the heavy hitters on display are fast-paced brawlers such as the Streets of Rage and Golden Axe trilogies, as well as Alien Storm and Altered Beast. For those looking for a slower, more in-depth experience there are also a number of RPGs in the mix including titles from the Phantasy Star and Shining Force franchises.

Of course, the platforming genre is well represented in the form of Kid Chameleon, Dynamite Heady, Ristar, and four different Sonic the Hedgehog titles. Puzzle fans can enjoy Columns and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, while those who want a quick hit of arcade-style action will be happy to know that Space Harrier and Super Thunder Blade will also be part of the collection.

SEGA Genesis Classics will be landing on Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018. You can take a peek at the brightly lit 16-bit fun in the trailer below. The nostalgic collection is also currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
