It seems that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice isn't just doing incredibly well critically, but it has been selling it a fantastic pace, too.

As announced today by Activision via a press release, Sekiro has sold over 2 million copies worldwide across PS4, Xbox One, and PC in fewer than 10 days after release. These numbers are based on internal estimates from both Activision and FromSoftware.

"Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has brought something very special and unique to Activision’s portfolio of games," said Michelle Fonseca, Activision's Vice President of Product Management of the game's early success. "It’s been an honor to work with FromSoftware to help introduce a brand-new franchise to gamers around the world."

"The fans have made Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice one of the most incredible game launches of 2019 thus far. The game has performed well on all platforms including PC and we’re excited by the continued support from gamers and critics alike. It has been gratifying to see the enjoyment from fans when they overcome each challenge.”

While Sekiro seemed like an odd addition to Activision's portfolio when it was first formally revealed last year at E3, it seems like the marriage between the publisher and FromSoftware has paid early dividends. Considering how much I liked the game myself, I'm extremely happy to see it do so well this early. Hopefully, this success continues throughout the rest of 2019.

If you'd like to get in on the action of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for yourself, the game is available right now on the aforementioned platforms of PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
