Fans were apprehensive to hear that FromSoftware's next souls-like game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, could potentially have microtransactions. This fear was based off a listing for the game on the UK PlayStation Store that said they may be included. Well fear not, a PR representative for the studio has confirmed to COGconnected that the title will not include microtransactions.

Wiebke Valentine, the PR representative, said:

"There are no plans for microtransactions in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice."

Valentine is a part of the team at Step 3, a client of Activision. The PlayStation UK Store listing appears to have mentioned that the game would include them, but it's evidently an error that will soon be fixed. It's important to note that additional standalone DLC will probably eventually be released for the game if past FromSoftware titles are anything to go by.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was originally teased at The Game Awards late last year. FromSoftware recently revealed tons of new gameplay footage straight out of Gamescom 2018. Furthermore, FromSoftware's Communications Manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, revealed that the game will be similar in size to Dark Souls 3 and BloodborneBut players shouldn't necessarily equate this to how long Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will take to beat.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be available on March 22 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
