Xbox Games Showcase didn't provide a new look at Senua's Saga Hellblade 2, however, the developers officially confirmed that the game is set in Iceland.

Originally revealed along with Microsoft's next-gen console at The Game Awards 2019, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is a sequel to Ninja Theory's highly praised franchise that was born as an indie title in 2017. The original game was incredible enough that convinced the Redmonidans to acquire the developers behind the game, and now it's a sequel that is being developed exclusively for Microsoft platforms.

Of course, we were expecting a new trailer from Hellblade 2 in Xbox Games Showcase online event, but it seems we need to wait a bit longer for a detailed look on the gameplay of the sequel to the original Hellblade.

Iceland is surely a great place for the setting of a game like the new Hellblade as it's going to feature some unique and strange locations similar to the first title. Previously, Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding has also been inspired by the black beaches of Iceland.

In 2017, Melina Juergens won the best performance of the year for playing as Senua in Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and she is back once again to reprise her role in Hellblade 2.

Thus far, Microsoft hasn't revealed any release window for Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, but the game is expected to be launched until 2022. As Microsoft has already confirmed, there will be no Xbox Series X exclusives in the next couple of years, and Hellblade 2 won't be an exception as it will be available for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
