Setting Details Revealed for Halo 5’s New Arena and Warzone Maps
Fans of 343 Industries’ much anticipated, Halo 5: Guardians, may have been wondering about the two new maps added in the game and what are their settings. Well, you don’t have to wait till you play in them yourself, since 343 Industries didn’t want to keep you waiting.
They have released a detailed description of the new Arena map, “The Rig” and the new Warzone map, “March on Stormbreak”. The Rig is set on the moon after the Covenant arrived in 2551 and destroyed all the civilization built by humans in the Meridian colony. March on Stormbreak is set in a mountain which was repaired “a thousand millennia ago” by the Forerunners and was used by the UNSC as a military base for operations to control the planet’s Forerunner sites.
“Meridian’s original inhabitants enjoyed the moon’s temperate climate and fertile land for decades. But when the Covenant unexpectedly arrived in 2551, the world’s impressive population and robust economy were suddenly laid low, glassed to the brink of extinction. Now, still clinging to the ghosts of commerce, mining platforms like this one scour what remains of the world’s surface—a tragically hollow attempt to resurrect the colony’s past opulence and splendor.”
MARCH ON STORMBREAK
“The Stormbreak mountain range is the broken spine of Kamchatka, mended a thousand millennia ago by the Forerunners’ godlike power. Shortly after Kamchatka’s discovery, the UNSC set in motion a plan to establish a military complex and power station to control the planet’s Forerunner sites.”
Halo 5: Guardians is set to launch on October 27 exclusively for the Xbox One.
