Continuing a model that was established during the development of Assassin's Creed II, Ubisoft has confirmed that seven different - yet interdependent - studios are working on the next iteration in the series, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Ubisoft Montreal, being the primary developer of all AC titles, is leading the charge while Ubisoft Singapore (given their role in developing the naval portions of Assasssin's Creed III) is being tasked with other major chunks of the game.

In addition to Singapore, Ubisoft studios Kiev and Quebec are also assisting with development of the primary game. Ubisoft Sofia is working on present-day storylines and missions, while Annecy and Bucharest are handling the multiplayer portion of the game.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be released on October 29th, 2013 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, and presumably the next-generation Xbox.
