DrinkBox Studios has announced their next game will be Severed, an open world where players not only defeat their enemies but attach various body parts of their adversary to themselves, which will cause them to gain new powers.

Described as a "cross between Mega Man, Infinity Blade, and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out," the nonlinear aspect will give players control over the upgrade paths, allowing for battles with a variety of enemies with different strengths and weaknesses. Magic will also be available to blind enemies or unlock doors.

Hoping to bring an eight-hour experience to gamers, Severed is planned for mobile platforms, however DrinkBox doesn't shy away from the idea of expanding the game to other consoles that support gestures, like PlayStation Vita, 3DS, and Wii U.

Severed is expected to release in 2015.
