The beloved PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus has been brought back to life in a stunning way with the newly-released PS4 remake, and while the remake is largely faithful to the original title, a new, hidden secret has been uncovered for players to find.

During a livestream from the YouTube channel PS4Trophies (via Kotaku), the channel uncovered a hidden collectible in the new PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus that is tied to a series of gold coins that were discovered to be hidden throughout the game's world. While it was unclear what the coins (referred to as "enlightenments") were tied to in the game, the stream revealed that they are connected to a new item called the Sword of Dormin.

Specifically, the stream revealed that there are 79 coins hidden in the game world for players to collect, and once all 79 are found, a hidden chamber can be found in the game's main hub area (The Shrine of Worship) that leads to the Sword. The Sword of Dormin itself offers players a much larger attack bonus compared to other items, though apparently it also slows down the player's health regeneration while it is in use. It also emits a beam of darkness from its blade, unlike the beam of light that shines from the starting sword that players have during the game.

Shadow of the Colossus is available now on PS4. For more on the game you can read our full review, and check out the original livestream detailing the process of getting the Sword of Dormin below:
