Today Square Enix and Eidos Montreal released a new Shadow of the Tomb Raider video featuring Senior Lighting Artist Audrey Flammand Lapointe.

In the video, Lapointe explains that in the game colors, contrasts, and location of the lights have been purposely set to help the player feel Lara's emotion. For instance, they help indicate whether a scene is from the past or happening in the present.

Lights are placed strategically to outline shapes, space, and enhance the sense of depth so that the player can instinctively know where to hide or where enemies are located.

We also hear that the game features an area where the player can really feel the depth of the environment thanks to volumetric lighting and fog, outlining enemies in a "very nice way."

You can check the video out below. If you want to learn more about gameplay, you can enjoy DualShockers’ own preview. You can also check out another recent video, and one from the same series released a few days ago, alongside a second clip, a third one, and a fourth which is particularly interesting, as it provides a look at machinery and puzzles.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you want to grab a copy of the game, you can currently pre-order it on Amazon.
