Today, Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital announced that their recently launched game, Shadow Warrior 2, saw a fourfold increase in its sales through one week after launch over the 2013 Shadow Warrior reboot, making it the largest launch ever for the developer and publisher.
Michal Szustak, studio director at Flying Wild Hog accompanied the announcement with the following statement:
“We could not be happier with the reception of Shadow Warrior 2,” “We’re a small studio with only about 75 people, and each of us poured our hearts and souls into making a bigger, different experience for Shadow Warrior 2. That our fans and critics have largely applauded our efforts means the absolute world to us.”
To celebrate this feat, the developer also revealed the game will be receiving a free piece of content in the form of the Nobitsura Kage (a fan-favorite katana) in the near future.
