Shadow Warrior 3 Teaser Trailer Shows Lo Wang in Classic Form
Today's Shadow Warrior trailer reveal supports theories that we'll be seeing more of the game at Devolver Digital's upcoming direct
After being teased last week on Twitter, we now have our first look at Shadow Warrior 3. The game’s teaser trailer carries the same bombastic energy that the revitalized series’ last two entries are so well known for. Of course, we know that wasn’t going to change, but the trailer does also give us a glimpse at some of what we’ll get in Shadow Warrior 3.
Developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital, the trailer is as crassly comical as the Shadow Warrior series gets. It opens with the game’s main character, Lo Wang, crushing a butterfly on the “filming in progress” sign seen in a Tweet from the game’s Twitter last week. It ends with Wang flipping off a horde of demons before jumping away, shouting “I’ll see you at the gameplay reveal, chumps!” Suffice to say, expect a gameplay reveal sometime soon, possibly at Devolver Digital’s direct on July 11.
As for what’s new in this teaser trailer, there’s not all that much. Lo Wang is still Lo Wang, but now he can wall run and sports a grappling hook. He also flexes some of his magical abilities on the aforementioned unfortunate demons, pulling one’s head and spine out Scorpio-style and sending another flying into a wall of spikes.
While that’s great and all, the question I was left asking was “what about the guns?” The past two Shadow Warrior titles sport a variety of weapons that can mow down or eviscerate whatever’s unfortunate enough to be in front of you, but we didn’t get a peek at them in this trailer. I suppose we’ll have to listen to Wang and wait for the gameplay reveal.
If you’re hankering for some Shadow Warrior right now and you don’t have either of the titles, don’t miss this opportunity. Both games are available on Steam right now at 75 percent off.
