Marvel has finally released the first teaser trailer for Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and many fans are wondering who Wenwu and Death Dealer are. We've put together a full guide on the characters to get you ready for the release of Shang Chi in September.

Who Is Wenwu/The Mandarin?

Many Marvel fans will know the Mandarin as Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3, who was portrayed by the great Ben Kingsley. But when Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings release in theaters, fans will finally get to meet the true Mandarin.

Wenwu is the father of Shang Chi and Xialing, and also known as The Mandarin. He is the legendary leader of the Ten Rings and will be portrayed by Tony Leung in the upcoming Shang Chi movie.

Wenwu is a character created solely for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the father of Shang Chi in the comic books is Fu Manchu. Due to losing the rights to the character back in 1983, Marvel has decided to merge the character with The Mandarin, creating Wenwu.

Who Is Death Dealer?

Death Dealer can be seen in the official trailer for Shang chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He is a warrior of the Ten Rings and the enemy of Shang Chi.

In the comic books, Death Dealer's real name is Li Ching-Lin. He was once an agent that worked for MI6 but was secretly working for Fu Manchu, who is now known as Wenwu.

It's not currently known if Death Dealer will have the same origin story in the his cinematic debut as he does in the comic books.
