Shank 2 is Officially a Thing; I Am Officially Excited.

Early last night Klei Entertainment announced the existence of Shank 2, a highly-anticipated (for me anyway) sequel to the ultra-violent, super-cool indie beat-em-up Shank, and I could not be happier. The first game was a pleasant surprise; even though it was criminally short and the gameplay got slightly repetitive, it was a game that exuded pure fun and charm from beginning to end.

if this announcement trailer is to be believed, the sequel fixes much of the problems, with combat looking more varied, kills looking more satisfying, and the abundance of new weapons to use. Hit the jump to check it out yourself.

Uhhh, yes, want very much. That taps into my primal masculine portion of the brain very, very well. Shank 2 is set to hit all platforms around Q1 of 2012.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
