With a variety of games spanning all the way back to the Game Boy Color, the lovable half-genie Shantae has charmed her way into the hearts of fans everywhere over the years, and now the beloved platforming series is set to make its return later this year with new game, currently titled Shantae 5.

Developer WayForward has announced that Shantae 5 is officially in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and the newly-announced Apple Arcade subscription service on iOS devices.

While details on the game itself are vague at the moment, the announcement should still nonetheless get fans of the Shantae series excited, as the lovable heroine’s last outing was in 2016’s Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. With such a length of time between the last installment in the series, luckily it seems like fans of the series (hopefully) won’t have too much longer of a wait when Shantae 5 arrives later this year.

Shantae 5 is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Apple Arcade. For now, you can take a look at the teaser art that was revealed by WayForward for the upcoming title. Kudos to the clever use of Shantae’s hair to make up the “5” in the title art.
