The re-releases of Shenmue I & II are already available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but publisher SEGA is hoping to still key into a market of nostalgic gamers. In a brand new launch trailer, there is a heavy emphasis on the iconic footage of the game and its place in the archives of video game history.

Seen in the trailer below, Shenmue I & II certainly still looks dated. Perhaps that is to be expected for any game that is roughly 20 years old, however it is equally a reminder on how technically proficient the SEGA Dreamcast was at the time.

More specifically, the trailer pulls various innocuous scenes from the first and second game like playing music from a record player. Text through the video notes that players can now "return to the masterpiece that defined modern gaming."

Of course, this morning has been a godsend for Shenmue fans. Yesterday it was revealed that a Shenmue III announcement would be coming today, and at Gamescom 2018's Opening Ceremony SEGA unveiled an August 27, 2019 release date for the highly anticipated sequel.

As mentioned before, Shenmue I & II is available immediately on PC, PS4, and Xbox One -- you can grab that collection via Amazon now. Meanwhile, check out the new launch trailer below:
