For those eager to see more of the detective adventure, Sherlock Holmes, brand new gameplay has been revealed by developers Frogwares showing off a portion of Chapter One.

In a reveal trailer last year, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One finally made a comeback and was showcased to the world. Chapter One is Frogwares' first new Sherlock Holmes game since 2016's divisive The Devil's Daughter. Let's check out what's in store this time for the detective in a first look at the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One gameplay.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Gameplay

The trailer begins with some stunning views over the 19th-century Mediterranean island that will be just a taste of some of the stunning environments players will get to explore on their clue-finding adventure as 21-year old Sherlock whos trying to solve the death of his mother. This instantly makes a refreshing change from the fog-filled and bleak streets of London we would be more accustomed to seeing the game take place.

Of course, this being a murder-mystery title, its not long until players are thrown into some kind of drama where we witness folks engaging in some combat. Thankfully, we also see some detective action as Sherlock investigates and goes around on the hunt for clues. Strangely though, we do for some reason see Holmes in more fights than his usual unearthing evidence which is a bit weird but nonetheless, the game does look enticing.

We also see a brief clip on how customisation works within the game but nothing too in-depth just yet. There are five main quests in the game, and 30 side quests,  that are connected through one continuous story.

How long will Sherlock Holmes Chapter One take to beat?

The developer says that it will take around 12 to 15 hours to beat the main story, and somewhere around 40 to 50 hours to experience everything the game has to share.

What will Sherlock Holmes Chapter One release on?

Frogwares states that the game is planned for release on Epic Games Store, Steam, GOG, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S sometime this year, 2021.
