Why is Sherlock Holmes in Ace Attorney?

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles focuses on Ryunosuke Naruhodo, an ancestor of Phoenix Wright, who was active in the 19th century, during Japan's Meiji Era and England's Victorian Era. He works with an assistant Susato Mkotoba, and is also aided by his best friend Kazuma Asogi. Last but not least, Ryunosuke ends up collaborating with a Sherlock Holmes based character, except he's named Herlock Sholmes. He is accompanied by Iris Wilson.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has several gameplay addition compared to the original series, some of which use our not-Sherlock Holmes partner. During investigations, players will work with Sholmes in a “Dance of Deduction”, to identify mistakes in the detective’s overboard logic. During trials, players will partake in “Summation Examinations” where we point out juror discrepancies to obtain a “Not Guilty” verdict.

It's also interesting to note the game will include dual audio, with Japanese and English voices.
