Treyarch Studios has officially confirmed the return of the classic Call of Duty Zombies map, Shi No Numa. It's arriving in Vanguard on June 22nd with the beginning of Season Four: Mercenaries of Fortune.

Although Call of Duty: Vanguard is developed by Sledgehammer Games, Zombies aficionados Treyarch Studios have been helming the development of Vanguard's Zombies mode. After receiving backlash from fans surrounding the lack of a round-based mode, the team confirmed back in April that they were hard at work on bringing the classic experience to Vanguard Zombies.

Treyarch pointed out to fans that bringing the popular mode to Vanguard would "take some time," but the next map would indeed be a reimagining of Shi No Numa. It seems as though the wait is almost over, as Treyarch has now confirmed June 22nd as the release date for Shi No Numa in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Season four of Vanguard and Warzone begins on June 22nd, with a plethora of new content coming to both titles. Call of Duty: Warzone will be receiving a brand new resurgence map known as 'Fortune's Keep,' whilst Vanguard fans will be able to jump back into Shi No Numa as part of the free content update.

">Drew Marlowe, an ex-developer for Treyarch Studios, took to Twitter to tell fans that the upcoming return of Shi No Numa is "much closer to classic zombies experience than the previous two maps were."

As many Call of Duty: Vanguard players will likely be well aware, Der Anfang took the classic Zombies formula in a completely different direction, causing outrage within the community. Instead of the classic round-based mode fans were used to, Vanguard's Zombies mode is heavily objective-based.

Treyarch Studios states that the return of Shi No Numa will be freshly enhanced with an all-new Main Quest and Side Quests, a new area to explore, a new Wonder Weapon Quest, the classic Flogger trap and Electro-Shock Defenses, remastered Easter Eggs, new Pack-a-Punch Camos, and a new Dark Aether narrative for the map.

Call of Duty Season Four kicks off on June 22nd in both Warzone and Vanguard.
