On October 16, Studio Khara announced the next Evangelion movie, Shin Evangelion Gekijoban, is launching in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2021. Hideaki Anno already confirmed long ago this is the fourth and final movie for the Rebuild series. A pretty cool new trailer was published as well via the Japanese official Evangelion account:

Shin Evangelion Gekijoban, officially titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time in English, was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and finally received its new release date. Well, you'll only be able to go see it if you live in Japan though. Trailers, posters and leaflets for the movie are also up on Japanese theaters now.

Seeing the past movies used the Kare Kano OST and the Fushigi no Umi no Nadia OST, I'm personally expecting this fourth movie to use another OST linked to Hideaki Anno as well. At first I definitely thought it'd be Top wo Nerae Gunbuster, but thinking about it, unlike everything else, that wasn't the work of Shiro Sagisu but Kohei Tanaka, the composer of Sakura Taisen. This means the Gunbuster OST is out. Though Evangelion 3.0+1.0 will definitely have some references to Gunbuster. Just like Shin Godzilla did. Another thing I can see happening is the Attacker You OST being used. Now that'd be awesome.

Another pretty fun and interesting thing is how this announcement happened 99 days before the movie's release.
