We're now a couple of days into August and Pokemon GO's Ultra Unlock Part 1 event is coming to a close.

However, while that event is winding down, Niantic has confirmed that there is still plenty more for players to get excited about this month, including the second part of the Ultra Unlock event, which will see the worldwide appearance of Shiny Heracross.

Alongside that, there is the usual smattering of Raid Hours, the Community Day and of course, the Spotlight Hour in which the first of the month is tonight.

Stepping into the limelight is none other than Magnet Pokemon. Here is whether you could be lucky enough to encounter a shiny Magnemite during tonight's Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour.

What Does Shiny Magnemite Look Like?

Shiny Magnemites, thankfully, are fairly different to their non-shiny varients.

Their usual metallic silver colour is replaced by a slightly more golden colour and the blue and white tips of its magnets turn a dark shade of grey.

Can Magnemite Be Shiny in Pokemon GO during the August Spotlight Hour?

Thankfully for Shiny Hunters, the answer is yes!

Magnemite, Magneton and Magnezone have been available in their Shiny forms for a few years now, releasing back in November 2018.

The Pokemon was released during the Let's GO Pikachu and Eevee tie in event.

What Spotlight Hours Are Left in August?

As this is only the first Spotlight Hour of the month, there are still another four remaining.

Niantic has confirmed that the next two Tuesdays will be taken up by East Sea and West Sea Shellos, as part of the Ultra Unlock Part 2 event, however, the following two weeks remain a mystery.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
