One of the year's most popular Pokemon GO events, the yearly Halloween spectacular is now upon us.

As usual, there is plenty for players to get stuck into as well as a range of Candy-related bonuses, including double transfer, catch and hatch candy.

Alongside this, the event will offer players the opportunity to hunt for a range of different shiny Pokemon.

One of the Pokemon that will be appearing more frequently is Spinarak, but can it be shiny in Pokemon GO? Let's take a look.

Can Spinarak Be Shiny in The Pokemon GO Halloween Event?

Thankfully for the shiny hunters out there, Spinarak can now be shiny in Pokemon GO.

It is the only Pokemon to have its shiny form released as part of this event and is no longer one of the last Johto Pokemon left in the game without their shiny form. There are now only 15 Gen 2 Pokemon that are yet to have their shiny forms released into GO.

The addition of shiny Spinarak is an interesting one, simply as Niantic usually chooses to go with a shiny Ghost-type Pokemon for Halloween, but it could be argued that spiders are equally as spooky.

What Does It Look Like?

Shiny Spinarak offers a fairly significant change to its usual colour palate.

Rather than the greens and yellows that players have become accustomed to, Spinarak's shiny form is a mixture of light blue and pink.

The changes extend to Ariados too, where it changes from red, yellow and purple to purple, yellow and light blue.

You can check how their models will look if you're lucky enough to find one in the game below:

How to Get A Shiny Spinarak in Pokemon GO?

Although there's never a hard and fast way to guarantee yourself a Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO, there are plenty of opportunities to find Spinarak. during the Halloween event.

It will be appearing in the wild, in 7KM Eggs and as part of Field Research tasks. Just bear in mind that it will only be boosted in the wild during the first week of the two-week event.

Failing this, you could always trade for the spider Pokemon, should a friend or somebody in your local community catch doubles.
