Pokemon GO - Can Spritzee or Swirlix be Shiny?

We’re now into what feels like the hundredth event of Pokemon GO’s Season of Legends titled “Luminous Legends X”.

While it’s easy to feel event fatigue with the current bombardment, this latest one could quite easily be the most exciting.

Alongside the debut of the legendary Pokemon Xerneas, many others are making their first appearance. The likes of Spritzee/Aromatisse and Swirlix/Slurpuff join Xerneas in making their introductions in the game.

With these new Pokemon, let’s take a look if Sprizee or Swirlix can be shiny in Pokemon GO.

What do Shiny Spritzee and Aromatisse look like?

Spritzee and its evolution Aromatisse are a pair of bright pink Pokemon. Unlike some monsters, the pair have a decent palate swap when in their shiny forms.

Spritzee changes from bright pink to a darker purple colour. Aromatisse on the other hand stays mainly pink, however, swaps its pink midriff fluff for a purple one.

Like Spritzee before it, Swirlix’s shiny form is also a pretty stark contrast to its regular one.

Normally, Swirlix looks like a giant pink cotton candy with legs and a face, however, its shiny form turns more of a light coffee colour. The same goes for its evolution Slurpuff as that too takes the same light brown colouring.

So, Can Shiny Spritzee or Shiny Swirlix appear in Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately for Pokemon GO players and Shiny hunters alike, the answer is no.

Realistically, it doesn’t make sense for Niantic to release these two new Pokemon’s shiny forms straight away.

They know players will be going all out to earn enough candies to evolve them that they can hold the allure of a shiny encounter back for a later date.
