The Nintendo Switch arrives just one week from today and alongside its launch lineup of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and more, Shovel Knight is bringing his brand of old-school 2D platforming to the system next week with the new system.

Developer Yacht Club Games has announced that Shovel Knight will arrive for the Nintendo Switch launch on March 3rd, 2017, after previously being confirmed for the system but with no exact release date specified. Both titles will be available digitally through the Nintendo eShop on launch day.

Specifically, both Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove - which collects the original game plus all of its expansions and other post-release content - and its upcoming new expansion "Specter of Torment" will arrive on March 3rd, 2017, for $24.99 and $9.99, respectively.

Yacht Club Games also clarified that, as previously announced, the upcoming "Specter of Torment" expansion will be available as a free update to owners of the original Shovel Knight, and will also be available as a standalone title on select platforms:

In addition to the titles coming to Nintendo Switch next week, Yacht Club also announced that a "Lead-Up Sale" is currently running now through March 2nd, 2017 that discounts Shovel Knight by 33% off, before the title changes to Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and the price increases to $24.99.
