Simply asking if fans are interested in seeing what the developer has been working on, a good guess would be a new look at the latest campaign DLC for Shovel Knight, titled Specter of Torment, which is slated for release sometime in 2017.

The new story follows Specter Knight and offers up a completely different play style to that found in the main game. Armed with a scythe, Specter Knight can unleash a fast slash against enemies as well as launch a diving attack from the air. What this knight lacks in jump height, he makes up for with the ability to climb up walls.

Keeping in line with the last piece of downloadable content, the Plague of Shadows campaign, both Specter of Torment, and the DLC after that featuring King Knight, will be released for free. Alongside the forthcoming campaign are new modes: Body Swap and Battle Mode. Body Swap lets players change the gender of their character, while Battle Mode is a multiplayer PvP game mode. The Game Awards 2016 will be airing tomorrow, December 1st, from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, starting at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT. A list of nominations for the ceremony can be found here.
