Japanese developer Preapp Partners announced that they will launch their used created idol production Showmaker on Steam this winter.

Showmaker puts the player in the producer's chair to create an idol performance from the ground up. This includes the ability to select the stage, song, idol, and stage effects. Additionally, players will be able to share their created performances with other users, who have the option to play the song in VR.

At launch, the game will include the character pack for Miss Monochrome, a popular Japanese vocaloid.

To celebrate the announcement, Preapp Partners will appear at Anime Expo 2017 and bring the vocaloid to western fans to see live.

Anime Expo details the show:

Miss Monochrome, the first 3D character pack, was created by Yui Horie, a popular voice actress who has featured in a large number of anime in Japan. To celebrate the announcement of Showmaker, as well as its very first VR demo, Miss Monochrome has scheduled a concert at Anime Expo on July 2. It will be Miss Monochrome's very first show in the United States! Yui Horie will also be making a special appearance at Anime Expo to support Miss Monochrome in her Showmaker debut!

Yui Horie's appearance schedule at Anime Expo:

  • Miss Monochrome concert: July 2 at 6pm
  • Yui Horie Panel: July 3 at 6pm
