Japanese company Navel announced a brand new sequel for its classic visual novel Shuffle!, titled Shuffle! Episode 2. The game's teaser site was opened, revealing that the core staff from the original Shuffle! is returning.

Shuffle!'s creator Agobarrier, who passed away in March 2016, is credited as series draft, meaning Shuffle! Episode 2 is based on scripts he left behind.

Shuffle! Episode 2's scenario is handled by Kouta Takeuchi, Higashinosuke, Jackson Oh, and Fumihiko Kuwabara. The latter three all worked on the original Shuffle!, while Kouta Takeuchi handled the scenario of Spiral!!, a 2019 visual novel set in the same world as Shuffle!.

Shuffle! Episode 2's character design and art are handled by Aoi Nishimata and Hiro Suzuhira, who both handled the same roles in all previous Shuffle! games. Navel didn't reveal the platforms for Shuffle! Episode 2 yet.

The original Shuffle! released in 2004 was an adult romance visual novel set in alternate modern world with humans, gods and devils coexisting. Shuffle! is one of the most popular and highly praised visual novels of early 2000, and received multiple sequels and spinoffs over the years. Shuffle! is also one of the many visual novels of that era who received anime adaptations, and together with works such as Key's Kanon, contributed to the genre being more recognized in the west at the time.

An English version of the PS2 enhanced port of Shuffle! is available in English on Steam.
