2K Games and Firaxis revealed today that Nubia will be coming to Sid Meier's Civilization VI as DLC, and that they will be led by Amanitore. Amanitore was one of the last great rulers and builders of the Kushitic Kingdom of Meroë, controlling an area between the Nile and Atbara rivers, erecting many structure to benefit her kingdom.

This Civ's World Heritage Site is Jebel Berkal, which was the name of Amanitore's palace. It's unique ability is Ta-Seti, which gives bonus production to ranged units, while also increasing the experience those units gain.

Nubia's unique unit is the Pítati, who are master archers. The unit is both stronger and faster than the regular archer, but still upgrades to the Crossbowman. The unique tile improvement is the Nubian Pyramid. History shows that about 200 of these were built, and they differ from Egyptian pyramids by having narrower bases and rising at a steeper angle. In game, they can be built on Desert, Desert Hill, or Floodplains tiles, and give the Civilization more faith.

Amanitore's ability is called Kandake of Meroe, and gives her civilization bonus production for building districts, even more so if Nubian Pyramids are built adjacent to the city center. The Nubia DLC also brings the Gifts of the Nile Scenario, where Nubia must compete with Egypt to build seven Temples dedicated to Amun within 125 turns.
