Sifu Devs Respond To Early Access Download Not Working On PlayStation

Owners of the Sifu Deluxe Edition aren't happy!

February 6, 2022

Although the official release of Sifu isn’t for another couple of days, owners of the Deluxe Edition are supposed to be able to gain early access right now. For some though, this isn’t the case.

If you’re on a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 and you’ve previously pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Sifu, you’ve likely booted up your console today ready to download the game via the promised early access feature.

Unfortunately, the ability to download Sifu on PlayStation consoles isn’t working for many around the world. Here’s what the developers have said on the issue.

Sifu Early Access Download Not Working

Sifu’s official release date is Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. However, if you purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game, you should be able to gain access from today, February 6th.

However, the countdown has now reached zero and instead of a ‘download’ prompt appearing for PlayStation users, the countdown is simply stuck at zero.

The developers issued the following statement on the matter:

“We are aware that there are issues preventing the download of Sifu through the early access on the PlayStation store, and are very sorry for the inconvenience. We’re looking into it with PlayStation to fix it asap, and will update you on the situation very soon!”.

So, it looks like Sloclap is hard at work attempting to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know how long it’s going to take to fix the issue, but an update is expected very soon.

Once more details on the issue are released, we will be sure to update this article, so stay tuned.

UPDATE: Sloclap has informed Sifu fans that Sony is actively investigating the issue and hope to have it resolved shortly. The developers also stated that they will “make it up” to fans, so it seems as though Deluxe Edition owners may be compensated for the issue. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
