Developer Slocap has announced that the free Summer 2022 update for its critically acclaimed kung-fu beat-em-up Sifu will be released on August 31st, 2022 for PS5, PS4, and PC.

The Summer 2022 update won't cost a penny but it will add a wealth of new features to the game, including outfits, game modifiers, and a new scoring system.

If you find yourself struggling against the foot fodder in Sifu, you can make life easier with the new modifiers. Players will have the ability to tailor the game's difficulty to their liking, meaning you can make it as easy as you want with modifiers like infinite health, infinite structure, and even bullet time, among others.

On the other hand, if you want a real challenge and bragging rights among your mates, you can up the difficulty by dropping your health to just one hit point while making enemies tougher. There are a number of new modifiers that can be used to either make the ultimate challenge or the ultimate god-mode.

In addition to the game modifiers, there's a new scoring system, too. According to Sloclap, the new system will better reflect the fighting prowess of players by ranking them based on smoothness, efficiency, and variety, along with a constant count of the player's fight interactions.

And finally, players will have a couple of new outfits to go to war in, though there's a catch. The Enforcer armour, which decks the player character out in a tactical combat outfit, complete with a stab vest and knee pads, will only be made available to those who own Sifu Deluxe Edition.

The second is the Master Hand outfit which will be free to all players. The Master Hand kit with its black figure-hugging trenchcoat is perhaps a homage to the greatest kung-fu master of the silver screen - Matrix's Neo. Er, just forget Matrix 4 for that comment to hold water...
