Pre-dating the North American release date announcement for Silent Hill: Downpour is its release for Japan, which will occur on November 8th, 2012. The reveal is a boon for Vatra Games, which has been suffering as of late and may actually end up shutting down if the situation does not improve.

Vatra Games' parent company, Kuju, has officially stated that "no decisions have yet been made" regarding the closure, which, in combination with Silent Hill: Downpour's anticipated release, may be a beacon of hope to the company.

Silent Hill: Downpour will be a Playstation 3 exclusive, at the very least for its Japan release. Why? Well, Sony has a much bigger share of the market than competitors like XBOX 360 in Japan, making an additional release unprofitable for that region. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for further release updates.
