Masahiro Ito, an illustrator known for his work on the Silent Hill series, teased on Twitter he's working on a new title as a core member. In the tweet, he also joked that he hopes the project won't end up canceled this time, referencing how Silent Hills got canceled by Konami.

In a follow-up tweet, Masahiro Ito mentioned how he can't say anything else yet about the project.

Masahiro Ito worked on the Silent Hill series since its very beginnings. Silent Hill 2 is still beloved today and you will often spot Pyramid Head cosplays when going to anime cons. At least in France. Ito also worked on Konami's Metal Gear Survive, a game produced after Hideo Kojima's departure and which was far from satisfying. You can read more with our review.

Masahiro Ito also worked on other horror games, such as the 2016 released Nightcry, a spiritual successor to Hifumi Kono's Clock Tower. Nowadays, Hifumi Kono is working on the upcoming horror adventure game Root Film, which will be out in Japan on PS4 and Switch on April 23, and soon enough in the west.

Masahiro Ito is currently freelance, meaning this new project isn't necessarily linked to Konami or an IP he previously worked on. We'll be sure to tell you more as soon as we learn more.
