SimCity Coming to a Mac Near You in June, Free for Owners of the PC Version

Want to play SimCity on your Mac? Then good news are on the way, as Maxis just announced that the Mac OS version of its city building game (that I recently reviewed here) is going to be releases exclusively as a digital download on June the 11th.

If you already have the game on PC but still want to play it on your Mac, the news are even better as you’re going to get the Mac version for free as part of your previous purchase. In addition to that cross platform gameplay will be available on the same servers between PC and Mac users, and players that created a city on PC will be able to pick it up on Mac and vice-versa.

In order to play SimCity on Mac you’ll need LION OSX 10.7.5 and a Core 2 processor.

Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
