Square Enix announced mobile gacha game by Yoko Taro Sinoalice will be getting a collaboration event with the new Higurashi anime adaptation. The one with Akio Watanabe charadesigns, starting in October 2020. A short trailer was published for the occasion, though it's a teaser and doesn't show anything. You can find it further below.Higurashi itself is getting a new gacha game titled Higurashi Mei, tied up with the new anime adaptation. It sounds pretty peculiar as it'll feature BGM by the walking synthesizer Motoi Sakuraba. We wrote about it here.Personally, what hypes me about this collab is how we could see Yoko Taro and Ryukishi07 teaming up. I'm not a huge fan of Yoko Taro but it'll definitely be interesting to see the two collaborating with each other. If it does turn out to be the case. The collab also means Higurashi characters will join Sinoalice, and it'll be interesting to see which characters makes the cut besides Rena, (she'll definitely be in as Higurashi's poster girl), and the new artwork made for each one of them. Moreover, a live stream was announced for August 21 at 2100 JST (Click here for time conversions). While it's a Sinoalice stream, we'll not only see more about the Higurashi collab, but also new details on Higurashi Mei and the October 2020 anime, as confirmed on Twitter:

The Sinoalice stream will feature game journalist Mafia Kajita as MC and the Sinoalice seiyuu M.A.O, Eri Kitamura, and Rika Tachibana.

Sinoalice Higurashi Collab Teaser

Sinoalice launched on June 6, 2017 in Japan. A global version launched three years later. Needless to say in this article we're talking about the Japanese version. The Higurashi collab will probably come to the global version of Sinoalice at some point though.

If you clicked on this article solely for Sinoalice, don't know anything about Higurashi, still read so far, and want to learn what's it all about, I highly suggest you read our past coverage. I explained multiple times in the past the When They Cry series: Higurashi, Umineko, Ciconia and 07th Expansion.
