Skara: The Blade Remains Shows Off The Lava Coliseum and Gets Ready For Steam Early Access

Last December, 8 Bit Studios showed off early alpha footage of its upcoming multiplayer fighting game, Skara: The Blade Remains, a game that pits teams of warriors against each other in reflex and skill-based combat. Now a new video has been released, showing off more alpha footage in preparation for the game’s impending Steam Early Access release.

The video below showcases a playable demo of a lava-filled arena deep inside the Rhozha Mountains, home to the barbarian Khärn tribe. Here combat relies on the same principles, but is set in a deadly dungeon surrounded by a moat of lava. There’s also footage of the mountainous terrain from the last video, though the combat still looks a little rough, with swords having no effect on what seemed like a bug-ridden enemy. Hopefully this will be cleaned up in a few months.

Pablo Rodriguez, CEO and Creative Director of Skara: The Blade Remains, had this to say:

After a lot of thought, we decided the best way for people to think about Skara was as: A versus fighting game…for sixteen players…The team and I have been playing it for a few weeks now—and we are very addicted so get ready for the early access!

Skara: The Blade Remains is set to release on PC platforms via Steam Early Access soon, though no word on the actual date. Stayed tuned for multiplayer fighting news.
