Skater XL Hits Over 1 Million Mod Downloads in a Day Through Mod.io

Over 1 million players downloaded from over 250 mods in a single day.

Skater XL from Easy Day Studios launched earlier this year, now the studio has revealed that in a single day, the community set an all-time record on mod.io, a platform that allows players to mod their game.

On December 16, Skater XL updated to version 1.1 which allowed players to mod the game through the use of mod.io, a platform that allows cross-platform modding for games. The trailer you see below shows off the simple process of installing a mod by simply choosing which ones you want to install and can range from cosmetics to map changes.

It was revealed that over 1 million downloads were made in a single day through the cross-platform modding system. Skater XL arrived on the platform with over 250 community content available to install.

Dain Hedgpeth, co-founder of Easy Day Studios said that players can ” check back regularly into Skater XL for more community content in addition to original new content and features we plan to add in the near future.” This new content is said to also arrived along with patches to fix known bugs as well as performance improvements.

Currently, the available mods include different items of clothing, different wheels, grip tapes, fancy decks, and even new maps. There are also ways to mods to change gravity and game speed, the UX, and other types of changes to the game.
