The most famous game within the Elder Scrolls' franchise without argument is Skyrim. In Skyrim, players will find themselves chasing after dragons, both good and bad, throughout the game's main storyline quests. These quests are amazing, make no mistake, but sometimes it's good for the player to get out and genuinely explore the incredible world that Skyrim offers.

This wonderful game has so many hours of exploration for players to wander, and included with that, are side quests! These side quests are usually played out like main quests, but they don't majorly impact the game's main story. These quests fit right in between small tasks and the main story quests. Some of these side quests are much more engaging and enjoyable than others.

10 Loud And Clear

The Thieves Guild questline offers players many quests that are very fun and rewarding, whether they offer gold or overall enjoyment of being a thief. Though Loud and Clear isn't the first quest that the player will do for the Thieves Guild, it is the first job the player will be doing as a member of the Thieves Guild.

This will also earn the player the Thieves Guild armor. The quest overall is very fun, as the player will have to sneak onto a manor, empty its safe, and then burn three of the manor's beehives, all because they didn't cooperate with Maven Black-Briar.

9 Blindsighted

The Blindsighted quest is another of the Thieves Guild questline, and it's considerably better than the previous one. This quest is further down the Thieves Guild questline, and is one of the last in the series. This quest will have the player, Brynjolf, and Karliah all tracking down Mercer Frey to a Dwarven ruin.

Here, Mercer has the Skeleton Key and the Eyes of the Falmer. The player must get these back and must traverse through complicated ruins in doing so. There are traps, Falmer, and Dwarven enemies all waiting for the player. The fight with Mercer Frey is also a memorable one.

8 Glory Of The Dead

a funeral for a companion in skyrim

The Glory of the Dead quest is one of the last quests that players will do for the Companions. Upon Kodlak's death, the player will attend his funeral. After doing so, the player will then obtain the final fragment needed to complete Ysgramor's Axe.

This will then have the player go to Ysgramor's Tomb to return Wuuthrad to its rightful owner. This quest overall has lots of emotional ties to it, making it a very impactful quest to the rest of the immersive Skyrim storylines. For any player that is a part of the Companions, this is a quest they can't miss.

7 A Night To Remember

a hagraven being friendly with the player

A Night to Remember is definitely true to its name since players will always remember this quest. This quest is definitely one of the most fun quests out there in Skyrim, and it even has great rewards for completing it. A Night to Remember is one of the Daedric quests that players can find. This one is started by talking to a man inside any tavern within Skyrim (after level 14).

The man will challenge the Dragonborn to a drinking game, at the end of which the Dragonborn eventually blacks out. Upon waking, a mad series of event have passed while the Dragonborn was...under the influence. Following these events is a very unique experience in this game.

6 Supply And Demand

The Jarl then asks the player to find the Skooma dealers and take them out. Basically, this quest will allow the Dragonborn to initiate a "drug-bust" in the world of Skyrim. The player will find the dealers at a cavern and ultimately stop the entire production. The player should have a good character build before taking on so many enemies at once, though.

5 Laid To Rest

a burnt down house in skyrim

Laid to Rest is a quest that players can essentially acquire pretty early in the game -- assuming they traveled through Morthal while journeying towards Ivarstead in the quest to walk the 7000 Steps. In Morthal, the Dragonborn can find a ruined house that was said to have burnt down.

An entire family lived inside, and according to locals, the husband and father of a girl had burnt the house down himself (since he was the only survivor). This quest will take players on a curious journey to seek answers about the house and witness an appearance from a ghostly girl.

4 Touching The Sky

serana lifting up an enemy in skyrim

Touching the Sky is a quest that players can obtain in the Dawnguard DLC, which most versions of Skyrim already come with today. This quest will be acquired deep into the DLC, after helping Serana. Serana and the player will walk into a cave where they encounter a unique person who gives them a quest to retrieve the bow that Serana and the player were searching for.

The long quest will have players fighting through complex locations and battling an extremely powerful vampire. This is a must-do for players playing through Dawnguard.

3 Blood On The Ice

windhelm's cemetary in skyrim

Blood on the Ice is a wonderful side quest for any players who love a good detective story. This quest is obtained in Windhelm after young women have been found murdered.

The player will engage with Windhelm in many ways in this quest, whether it be by tracking down different clues to find the killer and even performing autopsies on the victims. Throughout the entire quest, the player will definitely feel like a private detective in the ancient world of Tamriel, which is a unique feeling in the game.

2 Battle For Whiterun

The Battle For Whiterun is a quest that basically ends Skyrim's Civil War questline. This quest can be played by players who chose to side with the Stormcloaks or Imperials, with each choice affecting the course of the quest. Stormcloaks will be attacking the city, and Imperials will be defending the city.

The player gets to partake in a largescaled battle with many soldiers all over the battlefield. This quest really makes the player feel part of the Civil War in Skyrim, and it offers a genuine soldier of fantasy times. It's a great quest to level up combat perks as well.

1 The Mind Of Madness

The Mind of Madness is yet another Daedra quest that the player can play through, and this one is found in Solitude by a homeless man who goes by the name of Dervenin. Any player passing through Solitude should make sure to pick up this quest, for it is one of the most enjoyable quests in the entire game.

It's short, comedic, and rewards the player with one of the most unique weapons of all of video game history. The player will be asked by Dervenin to encourage his master to return home, and the player will then engage in a very enjoyable scene.

Skyrim is available on PlayStation 3/4/5, PSVR, Xbox 360/One/SeriesX/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
