While adventuring in the in-game afterlife Sovngarde, one Skyrim player miraculously stumbled across another Dragonborn.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is, without a doubt, a massive game. With a catalog of characters and hundreds of years of in-game history, there's no end to what players can discover even over 10 years since its initial release.

Even now, one player has discovered a cool tidbit of Dragonborn lore - aside from Dragon Priest Miraak, there's another interactable Dragonborn in the game. Previously, only Miraak and the player character were existing Dragonborn characters, but this spot adds another hero to the list.

SKYRIM'S OTHER DRAGONBORN

The Dragonborn in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are rare and powerful individuals, boasting the blood and soul of a dragon in their mortal bodies. They are heroes, legends, or liches, all of whom have solidified their name in Skyrim history. In the game, there was thought to only be two Dragonborn - the player, and the dragon priest Miraak.

" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Reddit user u/JimmyTheNephilim found another Dragonborn hero in the halls of Sovngarde. Sovngarde is Skyrim's afterlife, home to the heroes who have proven themselves in battle. When the player reaches this land, they can find a number of NPCs hailing from different parts of Skyrim's history. One such NPC is this Hero of Sovngarde below:

Upon interacting with him, the NPC greets the player and happily shares his claim to the Dragonborn birthright. Given that Dragonborn are so rare, it's likely that this Hero is incredibly ancient. He's named only as a vague "Hero of Sovngarde," so he doesn't appear to be one of the named notable Dragonborn. Though, this NPC does look like a Nord, so it's possible this is a reference to the ancient Nord Dragonborn Wulfharth.

It's this additional little detail that really fills out the game's afterlife, making it seem like a full, populated environment. Players see their legacy, can interact with it, making the long history of Dragonborn something more tangible. Overall, it's details like this that really make Skyrim feel like such a full, lively world.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available to play on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
