Many of us know the legend that is Shirley Curry, the Skyrim gaming grandma and for years she has entertained both the young and old with her Skyrim gaming antics over on YouTube. In celebration of her 84th birthday today, Shirley made a vlog over on her twitter detailing how she will be uploading a series of gaming videos throughout the day as a little birthday gift to her community that has shown her so much love and support over the years.Shirley plans to upload a plethora of gaming videos to her YouTube channel in different periods throughout which is an amazing present to her fans given that most are probably housebound at present. A few of the games Shirley will be showcasing are: Dear Esther, Civilization 5, This Land is My Land and The Land of Pain but for a complete list of times and games, you can check out the video below.

Last year, Shirley finally had her dream come true when Bethesda invited her out to the studios where she got scanned using photogrammetry technology – which takes scans of real-life objects and translates them into high detail 3D – so that she can be added as an NPC into the series she loves so much. Initially worried that she may not be around long enough to enjoy The Elder Scrolls VI as by then she will be 88 years old, Shirley was still over the moon at being given the chance to be immortalized into the game. This opportunity came to pass due to the overwhelming outpour from the gaming community who set up a petition to add her to the game themselves with Reddit user and modder phantom-scribbler taking the lead.

A video showing Shirley meeting with the executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard was beautifully wholesome and it encapsulated why she has 814K subscribers on YouTube and 44.6K followers on Twitter. If you enjoy Skyrim and gaming content in its purest form, make sure to go over and show your support - also wish her a happy birthday!

Also, if you enjoy documentaries Gameumentary created one just about Shirley and you can watch it in all its glory right here.
