Animal Crossing may have come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate long ago, but now, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes to Animal Crossing.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has finally completed its roster of fighters today with Sora's entry into the game. Now, the game boasts a list of 82 fighters from all kinds of Nintendo games and JRPGs, marking it as one of the most varied fighting games out there.

Smash Bros. is essentially one large crossover after another, seeing franchises like Animal Crossing bring fighters Isabelle and Villager into the ring. Now, one fan has created their own cute crossover, but this time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Using the game's design tools and available outfits, they've recreated Smash Bros.'s entire roster of fighters - yup, all 82.

SMASH BROS. FIGHTERS RECREATION IN AC:NH

Redditor DJ-Dez first started this Smash Bros. fighters recreation back in 2020, previous to the DLC Fighters Passes. Now, with the DLC Fighters Pass Vol 2 bringing Kingdom Hearts' Sora into the mix, they've finally completed their labor of love and made the whole roster.

Relying heavily on design tools, DJ-Dez was able to give these usually-intimidating characters the Animal Crossing twist. Using mostly different kinds of hat designs, they were able to show off familiar faces like Jigglypuff, Banjo, and King K. Rool. Of course, Isabelle is her regular self, seeing as how she's already a part of Smash's list.

Doing a recreation of this level takes some serious skill and patience. DJ-Dez themselves noted that sourcing the look-a-like clothing items in-game was what took the longest. Though some characters, like Mario, have ready-made costumes available in-game, DJ-Dez had to get creative with the more complicated fighters like Piranha Plant or Wolf.

In addition to the Smash Bros. fighters creation, DJ-Dez created their own version of the DLC Fighters Pass Vol 2 poster. As seen below, they've even mimicked the expressions of the DLC characters, capturing Sephiroth's dark grin and Kazuya's strong confidence.

Overall, Dj-Dez' project just goes to show that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a real tour de force when it comes to design. If you want to play Smash Bros. after seeing the Animal Crossing version of all the fighters, the new update and patch are currently already live and available to play on Nintendo Switch.
