Smite’s The Odyssey Event Brings Balances in Patch 4.17

Smite's most recent patch, The Odyssey, brings a lot of new content, but it's important to know just how the base game will be changing.

The Odyssey is Smite‘s biggest event of the year. It is filled with, for better or for worse, exclusive and limited skins as well as pedestals, loading frames, ward skins, and more. While players do have to pay for gems to unlock many of the events exclusive rewards, they do not need to pay to experience the changes that are coming to the game for gods and items in the next patch.

You can check out some of the changes below.

Most notable among the changes is Bastet, whom is receiving a buff courtesy of her cats. When the cats from her ultimate are defeated by enemies she receives a stacking Physical Power buff until the ultimate ends. Warriors Odin, Sun Wukong , and Ravana, are being nerfed because of their recent performance in matches. Brawler’s Beatstick, which has been picked up recently not because of its anti-heal but because of its Penetration and price, has had its price increased from 2200 to 2350. For Mages, Raijin is receiving a buff, similar to the last patches, to ensure that he is being played, and Hel has been met with small nerfs to combat her high pick/ban potential.

Chiron:

  • Training Exercise: Fixed an issue where this ability could cleanse enemy gods.

Bastet:

  • Cat Call: Bastet will now gain a stacking Physical Power buff each time a cat is killed by an enemy or structure. This will not trigger when the cats naturally despawn. Stacks up to 3 times and lasts 9s. Stacking Buff Provides : 7/9/11/13/15 Physical Power per stack. 21/27/33/39/45 Physical Power total.

Hel:

  • Decay: Decreased explode radius from 15 to 12 units. Updated targeting to better display this radius.
  • Inspire: Decreased movement speed for allies from 25% to 10%. Hel still receives the full 25% movement speed.

Odin:

  • General: Decreased Base Movement Speed from 375 to 370.
  • Path to Valhalla: Decreased Movement Speed per stack from 8% to 4%.
  • Raven’s Shield: Decreased Full Shield Bonus Damage from 25% to 15%.

Raijin:

  • Percussive Storm: Increase Magical Power scaling from 25% to 30%.
  • Raiju: Fixed an issue where Raiju would not trigger when hit while under “Immune” effects like Aegis Amulet. Updated description to specify Raiju triggers when hit by another damage source.

Ravana:

  • General Decreased Base Movement Speed from 375 to 370
  • Mystic Rush Decreased Damage Mitigation buff from 40% to 20/25/30/35/40%. Increased cooldown from 90/85/80/75/70 to 110/105/100/95/90

Sol:

  • General: Decreased Base Movement Speed from 375 to 370.
  • Magic Cudgel: Increased cooldown from 10s to 12s.
  • Master’s Will: Increased cooldown from 10s to 12s.
