While Smite's patch 4.17 "The Odyssey" was delayed due to Tropical Storm Irma, things seem to be back on track over at Hi-Rez Studios. That means that console players are finally going to be able to experience the brand new hunter from the Japanese pantheon–Hachiman– as well as much-needed changes to warriors, along with high-quality skins for Chaac, Ah Muzen Cab, Artio, and Nu Wa.

The official 4.17 patch overview video was released yesterday and encapsulates all of the patch changes and their arrival on console. You can check out the video below.

Hachiman is a long-range Samurai hunter whose basic attack augments allow you to strike enemies from very far away. His arrows, when buffed, can reach farther, but do more damage the closer you are to your target, allowing Hachiman to have surprising burst potential after dashing in. His Ultimate has him mounting a horse and unleashing arrows in a direction separate from the direction of the horse, meaning you can style on your opponents by escaping on horseback while firing behind you.

Smite is currently free-to-play on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. You can check out the patch notes in more detail in our god reveal post for Hachiman here.
