Sniper Elite 3 was first released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One all the back in July 2014. While Sniper Elite V2 made its way to a Nintendo console, the Wii U, the third game in the series wasn't as lucky. Fortunately for Nintendo fans, that will be changing soon as Rebellion announced during a special livestream today that Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019.

According to Rebellion, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch, as the title suggests, will include all content that has ever been released for the game via updates or DLC in one package. For those of you who may not remember, Sniper Elite 3 is actually set in North Africa and serves as a prequel to Sniper Elite V2, which itself was a mix between a sequel and remake of the original Sniper Elite from 2005.

Considering that the game and its DLC came to both last and current-gen consoles, it isn't surprising that Rebellion could include it all on Nintendo Switch. In addition to featuring all DLC, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition will apparently feature both motion controls and local wireless multiplayer exclusive to Nintendo Switch as well.

Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition is only one of four Sniper Elite related projects currently in development over at Rebellion. Other upcoming games include Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, which is also coming to Nintendo Switch, a new Sniper Elite game for VR platforms developed by Just Add Water, and a new mainline Sniper Elite title, which will be fully unveiled in 2020.

You can check out the first trailer for the Nintendo Switch port, which shows both cutscenes and gameplay running on the hybrid console's hardware, below. While the base version of Sniper Elite 3 has been available for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One for years, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition will finally Nintendo Switch players a chance to try the game later this year.
