As we draw closer to the release of SNK 40th Anniversary Collection for Nintendo Switch, NIS America continues to release trailers focusing on different games within its retro-themed compilation. Following hot on the heels of the Athena and Psycho Soldier themed trailer, the latest video draws attention to some of the grittier titles on offer with P.O.W and Guerrilla War.

The first title on display is 1988’s arcade smash P.O.W. This title sees you fist-fighting your way through a hostile army base in a Double Dragon style beat ’em up having escaped your cell. The player can punch and kick to defend themselves or grab an enemy firearm to blast their way through bare-fisted privates, grenade-tossing soldiers, and knife-wielding commandos in this action-packed side-scroller.

The second war-themed game featured in the trailer shines a light on 1987’s Guerrilla War. This one is a vertical shooter where the player acts as a revolutionary trying to liberate a nation from a tyrannical king. With the ability to be played in both single-player and two-player co-op, Guerrilla War is a fast-paced action title which sees you shooting your way through waves of soldiers, rescuing prisoners, and driving tanks to reach your goal. Many of these elements also appeared in SNK’s famous Metal Slug series some years later.

SNK 40th Anniversary Collection will be unleashing a wave of retro games exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2018. It will be soon followed by 10 free downloadable titles including Munch Mobile (Joyful Road), Chopper I, Sasuke vs Commander, Fantasy, and Time Soldiers.
