So You Think You Know Words App Puts Your Vocabulary to the Test

How strong is the noodle of your brain dedicated to vocabulary? Give it a test with So You Think You Know Words, a recently released application for iOS and Android that sizes up just how nerdy and wordy you really are.

I recently got my hands on this little gem, and let me just say — it’s addicting. You begin by selecting a puzzle category — I went with “Foodie Faire” — and from there you can select sub-categories. Each sub-category challenges you to guess its three words based on one clue and a jumble of letters, much like a guided game of Scrabble. Players can turn hints on and off, which reveal one letter of each word that must be completed. Sounds simple, right? Not quite.

Are you really stuck? The app allows you to take a screenshot of your current puzzle and post it on Facebook for your friends to help. I’ve never seen this before with a puzzle app, and the way it chooses to bring helpers and wrangle in other players  — utilizing Facebook — is really intuitive.

So You Think You Know Words is available for download at the game’s website. The first category pack, “Foodie Faire,” is free, with each addition pack running only $0.99. Check out the game in action below!
