SOE is Offering a “No Questions Asked” Refund Policy for Upset H1Z1 Customers
H1Z1, Sony Online Entertainment’s zombie survival MMO, had a very rocky launch on Steam Early Access yesterday. Authentication issues plagued H1Z1 and kept many users from accessing it until this morning, leading to many disappointed fans to request a refund of their purchase.
According to John Smedley, President of SOE, you can have that refund with “no questions asked” if you bought the game before this morning according to his Reddit post:
If you feel like the airdrops are an issue for you, you may immediately request a refund to firstname.lastname@example.org – this offer applies till Monday and it applies only to people that have purchased the game as of 10:30am Pacific today 1/16/2015 –
Please note that this is going through us, not Steam. Which means it’s a little more work so please be patient with the actual refund (it may take a day or two).
Since posting on Reddit, Smedley has also stated on Twitter that SOE has asked Valve to issue refunds as well for this weekend. While it is unfortunate to see that H1Z1 is having such a rough launch, it is excellent to see that SOE is more than willing to provide consumers with a refund in this Early Access period.

H1Z1 is now available on PC via Steam for $19.99 and $29.99 for a premium edition.
