It's that time of the month again when Sony reveals which games will be available for free through PlayStation Plus. The December 2018 line-up will include Soma and Onrush on the PlayStation 4—perhaps not the biggest blockbuster titles for the holiday season, but games that people are passionate and opinionated about regardless.

For those out of the know, Soma is a sci-fi horror game that comes from developer Frictional Games (Amnesia: The Dark Descent) and has players explore environments and find clues through a first-person perspective. Maybe Christmas isn't the correct holiday for a spooky and unsettling game, but horror and sci-fi should get something out of the experience.

Onrush is quite a different game, to say the least. Coming from Codemasters, the developer of the Dirt games, Onrush is a faster-paced, more arcadey take on the genre. Drive in off-road vehicles and perform stunts to your heart's content while trying to leave your opponents in the dust.

On the PlayStation 3 and Vita side, the following games will be available:

Personally, I'm only familiar with the latter two titles, but these free PlayStation Plus promotions are always a good way to expose players to lesser known titles.

Expect these games to be available for free from December 4, 2018 to January 1, 2019.You can revisit our reviews for Soma until then. On the other side of things, Microsoft unveiled their December Games with Gold line-up, which you can see for comparison here.
