It is no secret to any person on the internet that Overwatch porn is a thing. With a dedicated subreddit (no, I am not hyperlinking it) as well as thousands of images, videos, and gifs, it is at times hard to avoid.

Despite its mass-popularity, many content-creators are having their Overwatch porn removed due to DMCA takedowns. News comes by way of a reddit user who tendered an image of what he woke up to:

This recent takedown action, initated by property security firms Irdeto and EasySol, isn't across the board, only aimed at people who have ripped the game's assets (in this case, character models) and created the porn in Source Filmmaker. This means that drawing/digital art versions are immune from these takedowns.

This shouldn't be surprising to anyone, and is likely not a hostile move from Blizzard against those looking to sexualize thier characters. While fan content is always appreciated, legally Blizzard loses their copyright rights to characters -- and perhaps the game itself -- if it freely lets people operate with the game's in-game asset without a limited license.

So don't take this action as the morality police stepping in -- moreso a company looking to protect their ownership rights, at the unfortunate loss of some fans' good time.
